Technology and Your Finances

I fall into the birth-year of a millennial, albeit often I don’t feel that I truly align with this definition.  Nevertheless, I grew up alongside the smartphone, spending my childhood with a phone that was tied to the wall by a cord.  Later transitioning in adolescence with the power of the internet right in the palm of my hand.  With all of this technology it’s time to put today’s tech to good use – but I’m not interested in crushing the latest candy or chasing some birds.  I’m chasing my savings, investing, and managing my money.  Let’s take a look at some of the latest technology offerings designed to help you organize your finances.

Empower
This is a finance app that watches over your money constant.  This app allows you to link your accounts to the app and see your balances, transactions, due dates, monthly payments all in one app.  It also tracks and curb spending.  Knowledge is power and with flexible alerts, trackers, and reports it gives you insights to your spending habits to know how you spend and how to save better.

Qapital
If you are saving all of your money in a single account, it can be easy to lose track of your personal goals.  With Qapital, you can split up your savings based on your goals: an account to save for shopping, another for vacations, and any other account you need to setup to align with your personal savings goals.

Drop
Who doesn’t like getting money back?  This free app has given out millions of dollars in rewards to its users – and all they had to do was continue with their everyday spending.  Just link up your card to the app, and shop away (but of course stay on track with your budget).  Whenever you spend with your linked cards, the app automatically gives you points.  Shopping at your favorite places could help you rack up points, and then you can redeem those points for gifts where you want.

There are a plethora of apps and technology available to help you track your finances, control your spending, and stay on top of your finances.  What are your plans to stay on track with your budget?  Let me know in the comments!
